About MyGardenSchool
Virtually Everything About Gardens.
This group is for anyone interested in the practice of garden photography. Please post your photography here for comments on plants, gardens, garden design, and anything garden related.
To learn more about MyGardenSchool and online gardening courses please come and visit us at : my-garden-school.com Please also 'like' us on our facebook page if you do! And we love chatting to other gardening enthusiasts on our gardening blog where you will often find us pondering the current jobs to do in the garden and the latest on garden design.
MyGardenSchool's philosphy is to encourage people to treat their outside space with the same respect as they treat their indoor space. We believe that we should think as deeply and carefully about the usage, style and design of our exteriors as we do our interiors.
We also believe that gardens are fun. And a close relative of art. Gardening doesn't deserve the crusty reputation it developed a few years ago. It's a well kept secret - gardening is cool!
About Us:
Managing Director, Elspeth Briscoe
Elspeth Briscoe spent 15 years working in strategy and marketing developing some of the world’s most successful internet companies. She was one of the first 30 people at eBay.co.uk and loved the innovation side of building a groundbreaking internet company. Before becoming involved with the Internet, Briscoe spent several years as a hobbiest photographer and artist - doing a pre-foundation at St Martin's Art college. She is also a qualified landscape designer PGDip OCGD (distinction), a winner of International Garden Photographer of the Year, and enthusiastic blogger! See www.elspeth.tumblr.com for further information.
Associate Director, Duncan Heather
Duncan Heather set up practice as a garden designer in 1987 and is the director of the prestigious Oxford College of Garden Design which offers a post-graduate diploma in residential landscape architecture now widely recognised as one of the best garden design courses in the world www.garden-design-courses.co.uk.
In a career now spanning over 30 years, Duncan has won five gold medals, one silver, one bronze and three awards for innovative design.
Winning A MyGardenSchool Award
We like to award photos that we think are special in some way with the MyGardenSchool special photo award. We particularly value originality and humour, as well as classically good looking photos (personality does count!).
We also value what our group members think - so please use the code below to award photos that particularly appeal to you in the context of gardens and gardening. We don't believe in making awards mandatory - as this can undervalue them. So please use your judgement and award where you think it is deserved.
Please use (cut & paste) the following code to award photos that you think are first class in the sphere of gardening. We particularly like quirky and fun gardening photos too!
