About My Earth Day 2010

President Obama is challenging citizens to make small changes in their everyday lives to help protect the environment. For this year’s Earth Day, 22 April, we’d like to see what YOU are doing to address climate change!

Add a photo to our group that shows an action you took to lessen the impact of climate change. Some examples: taking public transportation, planting a tree, switching to energy-efficient lightbulbs, and collecting rain water.

We'll include the best entries in a photo album on our Global Conversations: Climate Facebook page during the first week of May, and maybe even publish them in an upcoming feature on www.america.gov/

Submitting a photo to the group is as easy as sending an email. Really! All you have to do is email your photo to street54simple@photos.flickr.com. In the email subject line, write the title of your photo. In the body of the email, write the description of your photo. When you hit "Send" the photo will automatically be added to the My Earth Day 2010 group photo pool.

You can follow these simple steps to post photos to the My Earth Day 2010 group:

1. Sign up for a free Flickr account then join our “My Earth Day 2010” group.

2. Upload your photo to Flickr. Under privacy options, choose “public,” and put in the following tag, “My Earth Day 2010." Remember to add a sentence explaining what the photo shows, along with your first and (optional) last name, city and country.

3. Click on the Flickr photo you'd like to submit. Open the “Send to Group” icon above the photo and you should see a list of groups you belong to. Select “My Earth Day 2010." A message will appear that your photo has been added. Click “ok.”

4. Joining Flickr assures you'll be able to see all of the photos posted to this group, as the photos of new members are only visible to other logged-in members.

*By uploading your photo to our Flickr account you give us permission to use and distribute your photo.
