About Portraits of Iconic Popular Musicians Gallery
This is a group for those who create fine art portraits and portrait photographs of iconic modern musicians, singers, songwriters, performers (definitely not fan snaps taken of iconic musicians on or off stage).
'Iconic' means both internationally recognised a leading musicians, singers, songwriters, performers of their genre, style, and generation and also musicians who are legendary in their country, or local region.
'Modern' and 'popular' means post 'classical' and includes everyone of iconic status in modern and post-modern music from Scott Joplin and "Jelly Roll Morton" to Dylan, Hendrix, Coldplay and beyond and includes, in alphabetical order: Acid house, Ambient, Blues, Country, Americana, Bluegrass, Drum and bass, Lounge music, Electronica, Funk, Gospel, Garage, Techno, House, Indie, Jazz, Big band, Acid Jazz Swing, Lo-fi, New Age, Pop, Ragtime, Rap, Swing Beat, Rave, Reggae, Rock and Roll, Rock (all varieties), Grunge, Metal, Psychedelic , New Wave, Post-punk, Southern rock, Rhythm and blues, Ska, Tin Pan Alley, Trance. The media employed to create these portraits can be anything suitable to the task.
