11 Nov 09 - We're delighted to announce the Museums at Night 2009 Flickr competition winners! In the Nightscape category, the winner is Tweeny and the runner up is krbristol. In the Objects category, the winner is Julie70 and the runner-up is Paul J White. In the Action category, the winner is kitschen pink and the runner-up is The Late Shows. The overall winner is Julie70 with her photo of visitors at the National Portrait Gallery. Thank you and congratulations to everyone who took part!

About Museums at Night 2009

Culture24 need you to help us create an online photographic archive and exhibition of Museums at Night 2009. We want you to photograph the action where you are and upload the best to this group so that we end up with a unique visual record.

Tagging:
All photographs need to be tagged with the venue, date and category, plus the #museumsatnight tag.

Criteria:
The event is open to all UK residents. Only people personally connected to the judges are unable to enter. Members of staff at participating venues are welcome to enter. The event is open from Friday May 15 and will close on midnight Sunday May 24. The selected photographs for the Culture24 exhibition will be announced in June 2009.

Categories:
There will be three categories – nightscape/action/objects:

1. Nightscape: Images of places and venues at night.
2. Action: Capture what is happening in the venue.
3. Objects: Pictures of museum and gallery artefacts or objects, or any other ‘still life’ picture.

Your photograph may also be chosen to be part of an online exhibition on Culture24.
A panel of photography experts including Gordon MacDonald of Photoworks and Susanna Brown, photography curator of V&A, will select the best photographs for the unique online exhibition on Culture24 in June 2009.
