I've been trying to evangelize the use of machine tags in the Flickr Lego communities, creating new predicates for the lego namespace as I find a need for them. What I have so far:
lego:set=nnnnn
Where the value is the numeric ID of an official Lego set, which you can get from www.peeron.com or the official TLC site.
lego:part=nnnnn
Where the value is the alphanumeric ID of a Lego part, which you can also look up on Peeron.
lego:status=currentstate
Where the value is the current state of the model pictured:
wip - WIP / work in progress, not yet completed
completed - finished model
dismantled - disassembled for parts
lego:scale=modelscale
Where the value is the scale in which the model is built:
minifig - Lego minifigure (minifig or 'fig) scale
micro - microscale
miniland - Miniland scale (tag not yet used)
1to1 - Real-life 1:1 scale
lego:theme=modeltheme
Where the value is the name of the "theme" of the creation, whether an official or fan community theme. Values for this, if it catches on, are likely to be /very/ subjective. I have eschewed the use of quoted values with spaces in them in favor of stripping whitespace. Themes in use so far: space, classicspace, caveracer, tta, powerminers, halo, blacktron, microspace, city, starwars.
So far there don't seem to be any hooks for these tags, but I can imagine a number of ways in which they could be used beyond just searching. Hope this is useful to someone.
