About Keep health workers caring for patients!

In many African countries affected by HIV/AIDS, there is simply not enough staff to treat the thousands of people in desperate need of life-saving AIDS treatment. Low salaries and bad working conditions push the few available health care workers away from public health services. By the same token, attracting and hiring new staff remains difficult. Without a significant pay increase, health care worker gaps will not be filled in the clinics. Every day, Médecins Sans Frontières teams witness how the critical shortage of health care workers impacts the lives – and causes the untimely deaths – of people with HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.

People living with HIV/AIDS need health staff to care for them. It is a matter of life and death! What do YOU think needs to be done so that those who care for patients today can continue to do so tomorrow?

We’re interested in your opinion, your experience, your ideas for action. Take a photograph of a message and post it on this photo feed.
