ABRIDGED RULES:

HOW TO ENTER A CHALLENGE:

Entries in a a challenge must be a previous award winner from another challenge group.

Only photos taken by yourself (or with your camera's self-timer function) may be submitted (strictly no photos taken by other people), even if manipulated by software.

You may only be in three (3) challenges at a time.

You may only be in one GrandMother Challenge at a time.

A photo may only play in one (1) open challenge at a time.

Only photos not yet in the group pool may be submitted to a challenge. Challenges No.11 and No.12: The Grandmother Challenge (for Big Momma and Baby Momma Winners), the Mother of the Month Challenge (for Grandmother Winners), or the Mother of the Year (for Mother of the Month Winners).

Only medium-sized photos may be submitted.

Photos must be "Public" in order to play in challenges.

Once submitted, a photo may not be changed.

When submitting a photo to a challenge you MUST vote in all challenges which are currently set “TO VOTE” . This is very important, because otherwise the whole game does not work. However, please refrain from voting in challenges in which you are participating (note, this does not apply to MOTM challenges).

WINNING A CHALLENGE:

The first photo to receive 5 votes is the winner, except in Challenges No.11 and No.12 (The Grandmother Challenge) where the winner must receive 10 votes. The Mother of the Month and the Mother of the Year winners will be awarded by most votes at the end of a specified length of time stated in the instructions of the appropriate challenge.
Any votes cast after the above count will be deleted by an administrator or moderator.

The challenge will be locked and closed by an administrator or moderator and the winning photo will be awarded the appropriate medal and may be posted to the group pool.

The three photos with the most votes in the Mother of the Month Challenge proceed to the finals. In the case of a tie or ties, all tied photos advance to the finals. In the Mother of the Year Challenge, the photo with the most votes wins. There will be no finals, unless there is a tie.

DEADLINES:

If after an hour a challenge has no competitor, an administrator or moderator may change the theme to improve the chance of somebody having a matching photo. This may be repeated again after another hour has gone by, still without any competitor.

If a challenge remains without a competitor for 3 hours, the theme is changed to "Anything Goes! (medaled of course)".

If a challenge sits for three hours with only one competitor, the theme may be broadened to improve the chance of attracting more competitors. Anytime a challenge sits for more than three hours, regardless of the number of competitors, the theme should be broadened or changed as needed to attract the three competitors.

The exception to the deadlines rule is the Race for the Medals. It is only run while we are busy and it may sit open beyond the deadlines to allow ample time to compete and win a medal in another challenge group.

If all the challenges are set "TO VOTE," an additional challenge No.13 may be opened to attract enough voters to close some of the current challenges and open new ones.

Themes will be from a pre-determined list and set by the administrator or moderator .

The appropriate winner tags are added automatically by the admin tool.

GRANDMOTHER CHALLENGES:

Main differences to ordinary challenge:

Only previous TMOACG Award Winning photos or photos that have won the now retired Baby Momma award may be submitted to the challenge ... and the medal more than 1 week old. You may play in only one (1) of the Grandmother Challenges at a time. The winner is the first photo to get 10 votes. The winner gets "The Grandmother Medal."

MISCELLANEOUS:

This is not a group for posting critiques (good or bad). However, feel free to do it on the member's photo.

It is prohibited to have discussions about politics, religion, or sex (we do not accept frontal nudity), or any other controversial issues. Doing so will result in a warning and possible removal from the group. Any foul, abusive or insulting language used in the Daily Chat will result in permanent removal from the group with no warning.

For complaints, questions and so on please Flickr-mail an administrator or moderator or use the daily chat thread.

These rules are subject to change as needs arise and the group grows. Any changes to the rules will be posted on the front page of the group and in the Daily Chat.

For complaints, questions and so on please Flickr-mail an administrator or moderator or use the daily chat thread.

What can get you banned:

•Repeated rules violations
•Blocking an administrator or moderator from commenting on your photos (we can’t award a Medal if you have us blocked!)
•Posting derogatory or insulting comments in the Daily Chat
•Posting nude, pornographic or offensive photos to the challenges or to the pool. The definitions of these terms will be at the sole discretion of the administrator/moderator team.
•Starting a thread
•Posting photos to the pool that have not won a medal
•Anything else that disrupts the group or in any way interferes with other’s enjoyment of the game.

If you get banned or kicked:

If you should be banned or kicked from the group and feel that the banning or kicking was unjustified, notify an administrator and we will review the situation. Understand that, although some of the “staff” here are moderators and some are administrators, both are equally trusted to do what is right for the group as a whole and there is a better than average chance that the banning or kicking will stand. However, nobody’s perfect and we will review any banning or kicking.

Being “kicked” from the group:

“Kicking” is kind of like a warning. If you are kicked from the group, you are simply removed and can re-join at any time. If you’ve been kicked, odds are that it was for some minor rules infraction or a series of them. Simply stated, just go over the rules and be sure you understand them and you will be welcomed back.

Nobody enjoys having to remove players from the group but please try to remember that this group is here for ALL of our players and the idea is to create an enjoyable, fun experience for all involved. Play by the rules and we feel that this could become one of the most fun, addictive groups on Flickr!
