About Motel Postcards & Ephemera
Motel postcards. Any motel postcards, be it a chain, or a mom-n-pop kinda place. Vintage motels (or vintage chain) postcards are more preferred, but we'll not limit ourselves. Note that "Motel" also includes tourist courts, cabins, cottages, "motor inns", "motor courts", or anything else that qualifies as a motel.
Other welcome items: scans of motel matchbooks, photos of motel ashtrays, vintage soaps, cover scans of vintage motel directories, especially those from Superior Courts, Quality Courts, Best Western/Eastern, etc., vintage motel stationary. If you're not sure your item fits, post it and we'll see. (If not, we'll remove it... no problem, no hard feelings.) :-)
If you would be so kind, please include what the back of the postcard says in your description. For an example, look here. We really want to know what's back there! If there's a hand written message, that's also nice to include, but the main printed caption will do just fine. :-)
NOTE: Don't swipe scans from Ebay or other postcard sales sites! What you post here should be YOUR scans, not taken from some auction posting. Seriously... don't do it. They don't have to be your postcards. They can belong to your mom, your grandmother, your friend, just as long as they're your scans. Stealing is wrong, stealing images gets you banned from here. Just so we're real clear on that...
Please try to comment on the stuff you find in here, but unlike some groups, we'll not hold a gun to your head with "post one, comment on 56.5 other photos, then post another, then comment to Pi, then..." Just as you're browsing, feel free to comment on what strikes your fancy, makes you laugh, does the place still exist, "I've stayed there!" or whatever.
