Most of inland Kenya is Christian rather than Muslim, but every town of reasonable size has at least one mosque.
And just about every shopfront is maintained by a company promoting their brand of a particular product-- beer, soda, cigarettes, or detergent being the most popular.

It's very difficult to find good photos or information of Mosques in Africa on the Net. Even on Flicker - how many Mosque in Africa photos are there?This shows the weakness of Muslims in particular, of not being active enough on the Internet.

The Southern hemispheres largest Masjid, the Nizamiye Turkish Masjid located in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. Construction started in October 2009 and was completed in February 2012.
Four minarets, each 55m high, a 32m-high and 24m-wide dome at the apex of the mosque, with 24 smaller domes adorning the boarding rooms and courtyard.
This Masjid is emulated on the Selimiye Masjid in the Turkish town of Edirne, constructed by architect Mimar Sinan between 1568 and 1574
