Hey, do we have any MSHers in the Paris area? I know just the grave for them to photograph! I've been trying to find a flickr photo of this for my blog and can't find one - Nureyev's grave. I can give you the exact cemetery if needed.
Hot pink won't be hard with a 5 year old girl...and she'll probably volunteer her brother for #13.
And I already have grave photos...

Youngest was barely awake when she came running to ask for the list of July - talking about being committed :D

I think I'm going to write it down and take with me (maybe not laminate it, that would be too organised for me ;)) as the holidays have started here today and the camera will be put too a strenuous use - we're going to a wildlife park, so that's the exotic animal covered - and yes, pest should be easy with two girls :D

Right, set started, list added - list printed - the girls are already conferring how to find things - we're going to try to take as many originals as possible and only go back to the archives when really necessary - this is already a big "What are we going to do today?" relief for me :D

Off we go!

Gee-Kay is a group administrator Gee-Kay says:

the pictures have to submitted to the group pool during July, but they can be new pictures, or one from your archives. as long as it's your picture (as opposed to one you found on the internet, for instance), then it's ok. we have a lot of archival pictures used.

also - to clarify for a question I just answered in email - there is no problem with reusing pictures that you'd submitted in previous MSH's. If you decide to do that, please leave the old MSH tags on the pic, and just add the new ones.

Hmmmm? Very interesting list indeed. #11 will be particularly interesting since I live in middle America. Most exotic we have here are oppossums and possibly armadillos. (I refuse to try to track down rattlesnakes!) LOL!

Of course, one could interpret it as a visit to the local zoo. LOL! Ok, maybe not.

#19 also looks to be pretty difficult. Maybe I need to get a hold of illusionist David Copperfield or Criss Angel for this one. (I wish!)

It's a line from a poem by Sir Walter Scott:

As far as I am aware he didn't write much about drive-ins.

What is going to be the difference between #2 and #18? I mean... blue sky thinking and think? I don't like to gripe, but there seems to be a bit of redundancy this month.
Posted 72 months ago. (permalink)

view photostream

Dysonstarr  Pro User  says:

Church of One.......I can see how you might interpret them to be the same thing, but #2 clearly has a specific "type" of thinking in mind (Such as possibly taking a picture of a cloud that resembles a bunny rabbit); whereas #18 is a more broader topic. It could be anything from a picture of a dunce cap, or Winnie the Pooh in his classic "Think, think, think" pose, to a picture of Aretha's single "Think".

It all boils down to how you interpret the items. That's half the fun :-)
Posted 72 months ago. (permalink)

view photostream

Church of One  Pro User  says:

@dyson - Well...that doesn't really reassure me. It simply means we'll be seeing a lot of pictures of clouds that people "see" things in. Looking at the early postings, there already seems to be a lot of redundancy in #2. We shall see.

Just goes to show - where I'm from, opossums and armadillos sound very exotic indeed.

tim ellis  Pro User  says:

What's exotic is always dependant on what you expect to see, I remember being in Stanley Park, Vancouver, and along with other European and Japanese tourists, taking pictures of the "cute" racoons that were scavenging along the side of the road, to the bemusement of the locals and North American tourists who just considered them pests.

The most "exotic" animals native to my immediate locale are Hedgehogs (which I do have pictures of, but not on Flickr...) and Urban Foxes (which I don't have pictures of - yet...). I suspect I'll interpret this as an exotic animal in a Zoo, since I can either raid the (extensive) archives or shoot something new if the opportunity arises.

Vaultboy pointed out the "think" and "blue sky thinking" yesterday at dinner. After he cleaned the food of fhis head, I explained that maybe he could "think outside the box" and possibly maybe get a number one picture out of it! :-)

These things get by us occassionally. Consider it a challenge to have two completely different photographs.

On the way home from holiday, we noticed a car with the hub caps painted pink. Horrible.

As we passed it for the second time, we noticed that the steering wheel was pink and fluffy, as was the driver's hair, and various other things. We shuddered and passed on.

When I got home, I saw this list for the first time, including "hot pink". Did I get a photo? Of course not.

I understand completely Jane, I have (finally after 4 weeks of recovering) started cleaning out various parts of my house. Do I remember to take photos of the things I've trashed? NO....of course not.....not even the disgusting mess I found in my outside trash can that hadn't been put out for pickup....which I then proceeded to accidentally dump on the ground and my dog found. Of course at that point I had to do the emergency dog bath and between gagging and trying not to inhale....it wasn't a kodak moment.....nor a canon one.

I'll stop there.

I'm guilty of a yawning cat!!! I admit it - but she's kind of blurry, and sort of exotic. I could switch to a yawning son, I suppose...this is kind of a challenging list.

I tried for a yawning horse but he moved more than the cat so I'm guilty of a yawning cat as well.

*lowers head in shame* I've got to get more creative!

Yatzi: Shooting myself (while yawning into the camera - what did you think? :-D ) is much safer that this walk of yours... ;-)

Katz: seems you should shoot yourself too. ;-D

@JumpinJack - Wow! Am I stupid. Again. I hope you didn't see the other one. I was thinking of taking an English class after the summer. :o)

But today I found out that I have been accepted for a university course in Animal signals. Maybe I should have applicated for the Human language instead ... I am so happy! And this will be the subject for my last item for July and then I am finished!

Heh, no worries.
I admit I chose an ambiguous and misleading phrase on purpose. :-)

Congrats for finishing your classes!
