About Monsters of the Id

Welcome to Monsters of the Id.

We're all about science fiction, magic, retro, horror -- sturm und drang, goddamnit -- but most importantly, being ourselves.

The Can-Do's:

Visuals: Image manipulation, b&w, sepia or outrageous color work. Concepts: Fear, angst, mystery, tragedy... and the occasional spot of whimsical humor. Monster as an embodiment of the incomprehensible, of otherness, of altered states of consciousness. Monster as Fear. Monster as Doubt. Monster as Deity. Monster as character flaw.

The No-Can-Do's:

- Posting someone else's work.
- Nondescript landscapes.
- Sunset shots.
- "toy portraits": shots of toys you simply bought and got out of the box. If you haven't altered them in any way, they're out.
