07 Dec 09 - Can I remind everyone monochrome only - no splashes of creative colour. Sepia toning, etc, is tolerated but pure black and white is preferred.

See main rules below for further guidance.

About Monochrome Britain

The British Isles in good old black and white captured on film or captured digitally - think monochromatically and share your vision of Britain here.

Sepia or toning - either brown or blue - is acceptable (especially but not exclusively as a result of alternative processing/printing) but are the only deviations allow.

Absolutely no selective spots of colour.

People, places, things - anything is acceptable in this celebration of all things essentially British/Irish. Unseen bits of Britain - trivia and snapshots of pop culture - are encouraged. 'British Isles' is geographical and not political or imperialist so please note that photos from the Irish Republic are welcomed (if, of course, the photographer wishes to post).

The limit is five pictures a day, but please do try not to dump them all in at once.

No blatant nudity - genitalia, etc - but clever portraits that wander into the semi-nude or fetish area will be tolerated if tasteful AND monochrome.
