ART BLOCK. (artist in need ASAP!)

view profile

kassy.miller says:

lately i have not felt that anything i do is good. and when i want to create something, i have to strain at what i want to do. eventually i get upset and just stop.

to be honest, i feel empty without art. and i feel badly for not being able to create. it's not that i don't think i can. i know i can.

for instance- art class i am always able to finish assignments and they turn out better then i thought. i like having some sort of... foundation. or basic concept i can build off.

i use to be free-minded with my art (the photos of my art work on here, are from last year, the only recent one is the cherry blossom). but, lately i've been creating less and less. and i want my creative flow to return. (mind you, i do have more art work just not uploaded, but maybe about 3 of ten works are recent.)

any cures or ideas for artist block?

please inspire me.

Travel can help, for me at least. If you're able, just bail for a short time and do whatever, wherever, without a purpose, just hang out in unfamiliar surroundings. Take a few days, a week, whatever you need (and can afford, of course).

My entire life was in the deepest hole so I left Australia and moved to Hong Kong. Now, ideas spring up everywhere I look, even in dreams.

Like Pink Floyd kinda said "...a short, sharp shock" might kickstart the stagnant feelings that drain creativity.

Hope it helps, my thoughts are with you.

Cheers
Marc.
