Drag to set position!

Moxette ADMIN July 6, 2016
UPDATE: From July 2016 I have set the group to be moderated, to ensure only modernist houses are posted. There are more appropriate groups for other types of buildings.

Meanwhile, thanks for all your wonderful thirties houses! I hope you'll continue to post them here. Even better if you could tag your photos with the name of the town, please, so it gets pulled in when someone does a search.

This group discussion is for members only.

Group Description

Please share your pics of 1930s modernist flat-roofed houses here. Those Crittall-windowed beauties dotted around the countryside - some restored to their original glory - others barely managing to avoid the bully-boy bulldozers.

They needn't be grand mansions created by masters such as Gropius or Lubetkin (though of course they're welcome).

Perhaps you've discovered a little enclave of them in the suburbs somewhere - or a solo example by the seaside, its faded paint masking its latterday glamour from all but those keen enough to see.

I'd really appreciate your help to keep this group on topic please. We welcome 1930s houses... but this group is not the place for blocks of flats, hotels, mid-century modern houses, public buildings - and certainly NOT interiors/furniture, views from the windows, CAD drawings. And, flat roofs only, please (unless using others to show a transition).

Not that all these topics aren't interesting too - but other groups exist for them.

Thank you for your indulgence :)
