About MODERN ARCHAEOLOGY

people have been digging for bottles for nearly 50 years now - metal detecting just as long -- people started digging for beer cans back in the 70s - although even this hobby is somewhat unknown (see www.therustybunch.com for things to do with an old rusty can) - a few of us have now dared to poke around in closed landfills - once ignored and viewed as disgusting mounds of old garbage bags - (well..still viewed that way) - they also may prove to be the only location find various artifacts of our throw-away society -
in short - stuff dug out of the ground from the mid 1960s forward...
