About A Photographic History of Moab Utah and the Surrounding Area
This is a collections of vintage or historic photographs from Moab Utah and the surrounding area, including; Thompson’s Springs, Castle Valley, La Sal, and other communities that may no longer exist from this area. This is a place for us to share scanned vintage and old photographs, old postcards, and other ephemera related to the Moab area of people, objects, places, history and culture.
The purpose of this group is to assist the Museum of Moab in identifying possible photographs of the area, for possible consideration of adding new photographs to the permanent collection of the museum. This group is open to anyone who has an interest in historic Moab and its culture.
Photos should be accompanied by a small sentence or paragraph telling about the image it self. If possible please include location, date and photographers name if known . Also include the names of people in all photographs if possible.
Group Guidelines:

- feel free to begin and respond to topics in the forum
-Any photographs and images of Moab from the dawn of photography up to the late 1980s, are more than welcome to be added to the pool.
We encourage members of the group to post photos even if you know very little about the photos, other than the fact that they have been taken in this area. By doing so, other members of the group may assist you in identifying and labeling them. It would be helpful if members of the group would assist in naming unidentified individuals, names of places, and possible dates by adding comments to each of the photos.
Please make your photos open to comments, notes.
Please make sure you have the copyright for pictures you're uploading. Pictures from family archives are preferred, please no pictures taken from books, newspapers or other third-party sources.
