About Minnesota Historical Churches

This group is for photos of old, historical churches in Minnesota. From the cathedrals of the big cities to the small town and little country churches, here is a place to post!

Group Guidelines

1) Old only please. We're not looking for shiny new churches. Older churches that have been added on to are OK. Try to use a rough guideline of 50 years old or older.

2) Focus is on the building and grounds, not the congregation or the photographer's best friend. Group pictures inside or in front of the church that show the building or depict the church's history are fine. Old historical pictures are very welcome!

3) Geotagging (adding to your flickr map) is encouraged but not required. Note that if you have trouble getting into your flickr map, try going into Organizer first, let the visible thumbnails of your photos load, and then click on the Map tab. My web browser seems to like to "choke" when I try to go right into the map without going into organizer first.

4) Any background information about the church and its history that you may know would be most welcome, but is not required. If you don't remember exacly where a church was, or what it was called, I have created a discussion thread where you can post a photo of it and see if anybody else might recognize it.

5) Commenting on other people's photos if you like them is strongly encouraged (it's kind of what makes the flickr world go 'round), but not required. I'll leave that up to you. There is optional comment code below. You do not need to use it, but it does help to "advertise" our group if you do.

6) As with any "Safe" group, no nudity or dead stuff, and no profanity etc. Keep it "Minnesota Nice" OK?

For the time being, I have no limit set on the number of images you can post per day. Eventually that will change, just so you are aware.
