About Minneriya-Kaudulla Elephant Project, Sri LankaThe Minneriya-Kaudulla Elephant Project is a study of the social behavior and population dynamics of the Minneriya-Kaudulla elephant population in north central Sri Lanka. The project is jointly run by ElephantVoices’ Dr. Joyce Poole and Petter Granli and Sri Lankan wildlife biologist, Manori Gunawardena. The project aims to provide important baseline data and new ideas and methodology with which to protect this important population and Asian elephants in general. One of our goals is to engage with the public in this endeavor.
