30 Aug 09 - Missouri had combatants on both sides of this war. It had it's lands occupied and guerillas who fought for both sides roamed its countryside. The passions of it's people ranged from strong Confederate ties to strong Union ties depending on where in Missouri you were. One thing that should be remembered about Missouri is that it is not called the "Show me State" for no reason.
