About Minoltian

The main reason of this group is based on creation of a common ground of interest for Minolta AF lenses. As you might have noticed, back in 2006 Sony took over the camera department of Minolta cooperation.
Sony kept the A-mount, which has been around since 1985 on Minolta AF lenses and cameras. So in 2010 the Sony DSLR camera range does work with some of the best lenses ever made: Minolta AF.
Today I will never mount anything else than a Minolta on my camera.

2 reasons:

1 - Sony normal optics are not too sharp and don't have the Minolta colors or bokeh.
2 - Carl Zeiss optics for Sony DSLR are too expensive for a very small difference from Minolta Prime optics.

This is how I see it, but you don't necessary have to agree with me to be a part of this group. We are here to share our experience and wow moments with Minolta lenses.
