About MINILABS ▣▤▥▧▨▦▩ Cross Process information

a group about Cross Process results in the different labs

MINilab Importance

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
90/95% of current's photo labs are digital:
They use a machine called minilab, and the process, as far as i know, uses to be like: Develop film / Scan film / Print pictures or Record files to CD.
There are not many Minilab manufacturers, and even each got different models, most of them use the similar film scanning technology for every model, so the results for a minilab brand(ej:Fuji, Noritsu, Konica) will be mostly similar/same in all labs who use that brand.
The goal is.
-If you can find that MINILAB BRAND that suits your cross process, you can use that brand whereever you go, any country, any place, just find a photo lab from the brand you like, or find some independent lab who got it. (Or even in the same city, find another lab that will bring the same results for a cheaper price)
-If you don't like the results you get with some film in some lab brand, you can find here another that will make it in the way you like, aswell as aware others about that.
THIS IS ABOUT SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE, YET LEARN FROM OTHERS.
notes..
-Generally if your lab is a Fuji or Konica,etc,( LIKE THIS), is almost sure the minilab will be the same brand. But there's some special cases...
-Sometimes Kodak Labs will use NORITSU equipment.
-Independent Labs can use a wide range of minilabs, but i would say Noritsu and Fuji is the most widely extended among independ labs. whatever it depends on the country.
H0W TO HElp
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ask your PhotoLab for the Minilab brand they use (and model if possible)
Or....
Check the minilab brand by yourself. Bellow you got a list about how the most popular brands look, you don't need to learn all the models from each, just to dinstinguish from a few colors the kind it is (and in most most times, the brand name or logo is printed on the side.)

Once you know your minilab.....

★Un can Create New Topics with the title like: CAMERA/FILM USED/ ASA/ MINILAB BRAND/ MODEL (if possible). And paste your pictures inside the topic.
Or....
★ Upload pictures to the group <Using Tags witht FILM USED, MINILAB BRAND (fuji,konica, noritsu,etc), and MODEL (if possible)

Or....

If you ask for your pictures in CD ....

NOT ALL, but many minilabs film scanners will save the EXIF info in the files of your CD. Flickr Can read EXIF, just allow it to:

Go to your Flickr Account, link "Your account" , click on "Privacy & Permissions".
click on "Hide your photos' EXIF data" and set it as False or NO.

The Minilab brand will be shown in your Photo Info (and so the film scanner model), like this:

Questions will be welcome
