I like the ideas Rob. Are we ready for that level yet? I mean is there anyone ready to lead a meetup, prepare a location, get the models, bring the lights, etc.
Now if you are willing to take that step out front to put this all together like a Chase Jarvis Seattle meetup I am sure no one would complain. I know for one I would be happy with that. I am not sure we have enough people prepared to lend a hand to pitch in and get this to that level yet. It shouldn't stop us from trying though. Every step towards a better meetup is a good step.
I agree that the last meetup at Frame was pretty fun. I liked it, and I agree it was the best yet.
How about trying that again, only stepping it up a notch and getting more people, more light options, and maybe even models. Though the people walking by seemed to like being models for the most part.
If organization is the key to better meetups lets do that. A good healthy thread (like this one here) is the first place to start. We need people to contribute ideas and we need people to bring stuff like gear and models, etc.

I agree Matt, Tuesdays work well for me.
I should be able to round up some models for the next shoot, it shouldnt be an issue at all.
I just wish we could confirm more people are coming. We normally get a bunch of people saying they are coming, but then dont stop out to enjoy.
I would love members of the group to speak out and let us know ahead of time what they would like to learn so we can prep and set it up.

If I can be there, I'll volunteer my two monolights to bring as well. I'll ask my fiance and her brother/sister. Her brother does MMA fighting (could be a fun subject), and my fiance and her sister would most likely enjoy dressing up for a night.

I'll try to make this months meeting. Are we still looking at a Weekday (Tuesday 23rd)?
I can't make anything on Saturday the 20th, but most likely could any other day. I can supply an AB800 and modifiers as well.

Hello, I'm new to the group - found it through alvin and dave g. I would love to make it out to a meet - but does everyone have to bring their own lights? also - I won't be able to make the 23rd, but look forward to future meets!!!

It's a large, open space (3,400 square feet, 19 foot high ceiling, 36 foot wide cyc wall) but we can certainly break it into smaller spaces if needed. There's also room outside as well, a parking lot, and grass/trees on the side of the building.
If I get a chance tonight I'll post a few more shots.
