About Historic Michigan

Historic Michigan is a group for posting photos of Michigan people, places, buildings, cities, etc. that have been given a formal historic designation. This can be any of the following designations:

* Michigan Historical Marker
* State or National Historic Landmark
* State or National Historic Register

For a guide to Michigan historic designations, see this site: www.mcgi.state.mi.us/hso/

Michigan has a rich history and many historic places and buildings, some more photogenic than others, but all with interesting stories. You do not have to include the actual historic marker, plaque, etc. in the photo, but please make sure your photo is an accurate representation of the historic element.

Please include the tag 'mihistoricsite' with all photos posted to this pool and identify your photos with at minimum a name and location, although more descriptive information is always interesting and welcome!

At the current time there is no maximum to photos that you can upload at one time, but if flooding becomes a problem, that may change. When you post a photo, please take a minute to look at some of the other photos that have been posted and make a comment or two.
