Signed. Flickr has a great community and provides lots of inspiration, but if Flickr becomes part of the MS company, I'd have to delete all the images I've uploaded, and will not renew my membership. This was really, really really bad news.

it took me 11 years to get rid of microsoft and still am forced by clients to use their technology.
it's fine, I accept it as it brings food to my table.
but buying yahoo would mean hands over flickr, widgets (konfabulator), and other stuff I keep loving since long time ago.
please, get your hands off us, we like usabilty.

Add my name to this...I feel certain that Microsoft would absolute feel the need to change some things about our Flickr and that would ruin it. Censorship would kill off some, and Microsoft's greed would kill the rest. Keep in mind, this is a HOSTILE takeover attempt of Yahoo - they're not likely to leave anything intact after having to fight to acquire Yahoo.

Not talking about anything MS would do to Yahoo generally and Flickr in particular, simply the fact that if people were happy with only one company owning the whole web AOL would still be the major ISP. But it's not, because we don't want to see an homogeneous "global village", we are not clones.

Sure is: Mirkosoft doesn't giva a thing about any real democratic process, wich doesn't have something to do with holding shares.
If now the risk is high, that the flickr-shares drop ( f.e. because of protests against the takeover/people leaving etc. ):
1. yahoo shareholders will maybe oppose the takeover bid
2. mircosoft maybe will think about going into such a hostile territory - but for that i wouldn't lay my hand in fire ...
So what i think is: The more Rumor we make, the better!

(And if you could possibly stop pretending to write software and operating systems that would helpful as well. Let's face it - it's not like you need the money; and, to be honest, you haven't done anything even half-way decent since DOS, which always looked suspiciously like CPM in my opinion...)
