They were originally the Special Patrol Group (SPG) formed in 1965

At present the TSG's uses Mercedes Sprinters to carry out there duties all are fitted emergency lights ,sirens and with riot shields which can be lowered to protect the vehicle

About Metropolitan Police, Territorial Support Group (TSG)

The group shows the good work that the TSG (Territorial Support Group) does.

They were originally the Special Patrol Group (SPG) formed in 1965
In 1986 they were disbanded and were renamed the Territorial Support Group in 1987
At present the TSG's uses Mercedes Sprinters to carry out there duties.

The TSG has 3 main objectives in the Metropolitan Police:
Preventing Terrorism in London
Responding to disorder anywhere in London.
Reducing priority crime
