About The Metropolitan Museum of Art

It's Time We Met

On February 15, we launched "It's Time We Met," our first visitor-contributed photography contest. Hundreds of visitors submitted nearly one thousand photographs taken in the Museum's Main Building or at The Cloisters Museum and Gardens depicting how they've shared their Met experience with friends and family.

Out of the 999 submissions, the Museum's panel of judges selected two winning photographs and five runners-up. Prizes were awarded to the winners, whose photographs will be used in the "It's Time We Met" marketing campaign. See the selected photos here.

Wikipedia Loves Art

The Met participated in a scavenger hunt and free content photography contest coordinated with other museums worldwide aimed at illustrating Wikipedia articles. The event ran for the whole month of February 2009.
