About Men in Kippah
Welcome - The idea of starting this group came to me after (well much after) attending an Israeli festival in San Francisco. I found myself photographing men in kippah (aka yarmelke). The designs and colors were fascinating, as well as seeing these men in environments outside of the synagogue.
Thus in the early morning, while sitting in a coffee shop (avoiding work), I realized there must be others out there who would be interested helping to create this very uniquely Jewish collection.
All I ask is that submissions include the obvious as well as being in a non-traditional setting - outside synagogue– UNLESS it is something you feel is special and or unique.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS INCLUDES WOMEN IN KIPPAH TOOO
kippah (Hebrew: כִּפָּה kippa, plural kippot. Yiddish: קאַפּעלע kapele small cap," though more often יאַרמלקע yarmlke sometimes rendered yarmelke or yarmulka, from the Polish jarmułka) is a thin, slightly-rounded skullcap traditionally worn by observant Jewish men. (Some women in the egalitarian Conservative and Reform movements also wear it during services.) – Courtesy of Wikipedia
