About Modernism and the Mediterranean

This group explores the modernist architectural heritage of the countries bordering the Mediterranean sea.

Usually what people tend to post about the Med is beaches, old 'traditional' villages, fishermen and things premodern in general.

However, states and societies around the sea are not stuck in some premodern idyll so let's turn our attention to their modernist features.

Please post pictures of industrial and modernist structures only. Pictures of urban decay and ex-industrial areas are welcome too.

Pictures of contemporary gated communities (which are also prevalent around the sea) will be tolerated insofar as they bring out the contrast between modernism and postindustrial architecture.

No pictures of traditional villages please. Please limit your pics geographically only to the Mediterranean countries, as this is not a group about modernism in general but modernism in the Med.
