I am a Scammell Scarab owner and member of the Mechanical Horse Club and warmly welcome you to my friendly group for owners and people interested in Scammell Mechanical Horses and associated Scammell coupling vehicles.

My Mechanical Horse is a Scarab from 1964, a 6 ton diesel model and worked at the Leyland Motors plant at Leyland, Lancashire. It was converted in-house by Leyland to a ballast shunting tractor when quite new and remained in this form all its working life. Recently I converted it back to its original form as it was when it left the Scammell factory, Watford, London when new.
