November 27th 2008 ˜ 328/366

I went together with Libo to see the Picasso exhibit (other link here), sponsored by the company I work for.
As always the guided tour was followed by a wonderful buffet.
It was really cold and windy and the buffet on the terrace wasn't really enjoyable.... so we quickly ate our food, I took a few pics of the wonderful view (yup, the Colosseum...) and then we headed home.

We're down to day 2 out of 3 in our move... They're doing bedrooms today, and tomorrow they'll be taking the beds.
So apparently we'll be sleeping in the new house as of tomorrow night.

Rain again? You had a very wet winter last year too didn't you? Enough already! Settled into the new digs? Get a nice snuggly and warm blanket or throw and curl up in it and admire the new space. Smaller = more intimate. Smaller = less room to collect crap. Only THE most important things should be kept; it will be that much easier when you move out with *ahem* someone, or just into your very own space. And wireless in your room?!? You're all set girly girl. Sounds ideal. Thanks again for your encouragement. (((hugs))))

!!! you get all new furniture??? Oh dear, my envy is huge! I can't wait to see what you choose and how you arrange it. i often think smaller spaces are charming, opportunities for little nooks and inspiration for being creative with organization. I know, how lame, but organization is one of my fave things. An ensuite is bliss and a pretty nifty perk for taking the smaller bedroom, I agree!

I decided to tackle the first of my Ikea purchases.
The set of drawers.
I love Ikea stuff. Their designs are very simple, modern and just how I like them.
The DIY part of it all is rather fun, and the instructions easy.... but damn, I had no idea the drawers would be so time-consuming to put together...
4 hours, several breaks, and 1 back ache later... we had my chest of drawers!
Yay!!

December 12th 2008 ˜ I dunno what day it is anymore/366

It's been an awful week... the weather has been dreadful and it has rained non stop the entire week.
This has caused some significant problems with traffic, flooding and casualties.
We rarely have so much rain here in Rome and no need to say, we're rather unprepared for it.
The Tiber river was close to flooding above the levels of the river banks, causing serious damage.
We were let out early from work, in order to allow us to get home, before most roads and bridges were blocked off from traffic.
Luckily I managed to get home ok, considering I was with my scooter, but then again I am lucky to live fairy close to work.
On my way home I did want to stop off and take some pictures of the Tiber, but it really wasn't a good idea to stop in the middle of traffic and rain, not to mention that I had none of my two cameras on me.
Let's hope the week end reserves some dryer weather.
The picture above is for the mini challenge... revealing my true self. Can't get more real and exposed than that...
It's probably my first and last....
