Born in London, Jane Mayle moved to the United States as a child. After graduating from Columbia University with a degree in literature, Jane made a seamless transition into the world of fashion and started her line Mayle in Fall 1999. Jane views design as another form of storytelling, and she hopes the women who wear her creations will sense a story behind them. Mayle's whimsy and romantic femininity serve to remind its wearer how and why she is a woman, while encouraging individual style.
