IN LOVE OF BRICKS

The aim of this pool is to deal not just with photos of BRICKS (mattoni), but also with the traditional, as well as innovative, art of using BRICKS for building houses, walls, pavements, towers, churches, castles, bridges or whatever, not only in Italy but all over the world. Post only pictures showing BRICKS used as decoration, creating patterns, design, ornamental motives, unique figures, fashionable styles. Details showing a modern, imaginative use of bricks in new architectural projects. Recognition of the ancient handling of BRICKS in the stuctural remains of past civilizations, churches, castles, monuments, long-standing ruins from very old ages. But also BRICKS in our present living landscape, in the farmhouses of our countryside, in the facades of houses, palaces and factories in our towns, as ordinary but essential elements in our daily life. Also show photos of BRICKS as interesting and stimulating subjects for our photographing adventures.

Some rules:

1 - Remember to always add a short explanation of what your picture is about, giving also some basic indication of the locality and other possible information. It’s very useful to other viewers.

2 - When you post one picture, you may comment on photos by other people already in the pool. Especially when they appeal to you. Remember that some people really love to receive comments on their work. Make them happy. It’s a good deed.

3 – Don’t be malicious in your comments. Why should you hurt people unnecessarily? You should always remember that no one is above criticism. Not even you. If you are needlessly mean, you will be treated meanly by others.

4 - Post only pictures of BRICKS. Bricks as main subject, bricks on the foreground, on the background, on both sides. whatever. But only BRICKS. To post photos with totally different subjects only means that you do not read rules. Or that you are unable to understand them. Which would be a pity, because unsuitable pictures, even if they are superb, will just be removed.

5 - NO nudity, neither before nor behind bricks. And especially NO pornography. We do not need it. Should you feel the strong urge to show yourself in your birthday suit or other people more or less in the nude or in unmistakable positions, go and post your pictures on other specialized pools. Even if your photos have some bricks in it. Anyhow, inappropriate pictures will be quickly deleted.

6 - Add the tag MATTONI when you post your picture (it just means ‘bricks’ in Italian).
