BOKEH:
As it pertains to this group ONLY

1. BOKE - Blur and distortion in any image of any medium that is caused by any means possible that adds any amount of quality or aesthetic contrast to the image's sharp areas.


2. The Boke - Blur in a photographic image that is somewhat pleasing, enhances the image's quality or is used as a creative background. It is important to note that all boke while out of focus is always recognizable as to it's shape or subject matter.



3. BOKEH - BOKEH is a type of photograph that displays a well focused area or subject and an area that is out of focus to the extent that the subject matter is no longer recognizable. It may however still be interpretable.


4. The Bokeh -The quality of the blur has come to be known as "the bokeh". The bokeh refers to the fuzzy or confused nature of out of focus areas in photographs. They are smooth and uniform or they take on some other shape and texture.

For Bokeh, ideally points and lines would blur smoothly as they fell out of focus, in the manner, for example, of a smooth Gaussian blurring. reflected light and light sources would appear as circles of confusion.

Essentially, bokeh is a qualitative measure of light distortion in the out-of-focus areas of an image, and is primarily caused by lens aberrations and aperture shape.

however,
BOKE IMAGES CONTAIN NO AESTHETIC BOKEH SUBJECT MATTER

this group does not accept BOKE PHOTOGRAPHS
this group does not accept OUT OF FOCUS artwork
this group does not accept images that are slightly out of focus due to DEPTH OF FIELD
this groups does not accept MOST MACRO IMAGES.


notes:
Images that display a macro subject with the bokeh coming from other aspects of the image may be considered. THESE MICRO-BOKEH images will be accepted based on quality.

Images that display bokehlike subject matter but have no focused subject area are not BOKEH. They are out of focus snapshots. No exception. REMEMBER IT CAN'T BE BOKEH IF THERE IS NOTHING SHARP IN THE PICTURE.
