About Massachusetts Monuments and Memorials

This group is for photographs (old and new) of monuments and memorials anywhere in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

For the purpose of this group, I am rather arbitrarily defining monuments and memorials as statues and similar structures built with the primary purpose of honoring a notable person, group of people or event. This excludes buildings like libraries, schools and hospitals that are named to honor a person, group or event, but were not primarily built for that purpose.

Please add the name and location of the site, and as much other information as you can. It would also be great if you'd geocode your images or use Flickr's mapping feature.
