About Photography & Video for Marine Boats

Are there any upload limits on videos?

Free account holders can upload 2 videos a month. If you’re a pro member, your account has unlimited bandwidth and storage space which includes video content.

But! Individual video files must be smaller than 150MB in size for free members and 500MB for Pro members (more because Pro members can upload HD video).

Any member can upload HD video but it will only show as HD if your account is pro. We keep the original though, so if you upload an HD video to your free account it will be available in HD if you decide to upgrade later.

Can I put background music on my clips?

If you are interested in adding a soundtrack to your video, there’s lots of great music available through Creative Commons that won't get you in trouble for copyright infringement.
If you do use background music, per CC licensing requirements available on Flickr, you'll need to attribute the music you use by mentioning and linking to the artist, or the CC page you found it on.

Here are some online resources you might like to try:

Why is there a time limit of 90 seconds?

Video on Flickr grew out of the idea of “long photos” and as such, we’ve implemented what might seem like an arbitrary limit of playing back the first 90 seconds of a video. 90 seconds?

Where do my videos show up?

Video will display alongside photos in search results, within new uploads from friends, in Explore, on the Map, in RSS feeds, and anywhere else that you are used to finding photos.

There will be some parts of Flickr where you can choose that you’d like to see either photos or video, or both, like Advanced Search. We’ve also improved group pool submission rules so group admins can specify whether they’d like their group pool to include photos, or video, or both.

I’m having trouble uploading my videos? How can I troubleshoot?

If you’re having trouble with one of the uploading tools, we urge you to try the other one. That is, if the desktop Uploadr doesn’t work, try using the web-based Uploadr. The two primary factors that determine the speed of upload is the file size and your connection to the internet.

Here's a list of the file formats we accept:

AVI (Proprietary codecs may not work)
WMV
MOV (AVID or other proprietary codecs may not work)
MPEG (1, 2, and 4)
3gp
Note: There is a known issue where all files from the Kodak Zi6 and Zi8 will not encode. Support for this will be implemented as soon as possible.
