About Margaret Rope stained glass

This group is about collecting quality images of stained glass windows by the two woman stained glass artists called Margaret Rope. The elder Margaret (Margaret Agnes Rope) had the family nickname of "Marga" and the younger (Margaret Edith Rope) had the nickname "Tor". To distinguish herself from her elder cousin, Tor signed her windows M.E. Aldrich Rope, M.E.A.Rope or simply M.E.A.R. Her maker's mark was a tortoise, used chiefly in later years. Marga only signed one window, in St Peter's, Blaxhall, Suffolk.
