About Maps Agenda
M.A.P.S. Züri Agenda is a printed event-calendar, published in nine languages by the Zürcher Fachorganisation AOZ (www.aoz.ch) in a two-week rhythm with a print run of approximately 2’000 copies. The digital version on the internet includes further languages.
The calendar lists public events in the field of local cultural and recreational activities, with the goal of making these events accessible to foreigners with insufficient knowledge of German and lacking all financial possibilities. Readers are often migrants from third-world countries, at times refugees, or other persons seeking asylum.
Pictures in large and small format in the header on the front page and the whole of the back page of the printed calendar illustrate the idea behind M.A.P.S., or also specific information to events.
The M.A.P.S. team is therefore continuously searching for pictures on which people characterising migration topics are depicted. Pictures are especially favoured on which people interact with others, for example, while watching, speaking, learning, contemplating, walking, etc.
Scenes may be such that what the person is doing is not visible. Rather, they should awaken interest and curiosity. Even better would be if signs or pictures are located within the picture, that indicate the setting as Swiss or from the Zurich area.
Not every picture, which is in the pool, will be published. But please leave the pictures in the pool, so we can use them for later publications.
We allow us to sign publicated pictures with the tag “mapsagenda”.
