About mambo surf, art and street wear
Mambo: an Australian clothin’ line...founded by Dare Jennings in 1982...most of the design were from many famous artists including: Gerry Wedd, Reg Mombassa, Robert Moore, Beci Orpin, Jodi Barcon and Matthew Martin
Mambo makes a lot of street and home wares but it remains a surf brand..
"Why 'Mambo'? 'Cause at the time there were other... I never wanted to appear to be a parochial brand. I wanted something that was a little more global, a name that would be more global. 'Mambo' had many great connotations, black magic, voodoo, jazz, beatniks - the things that I liked." -Dare Jennings
