About Madrid, New Mexico

Madrid is a funky little resurrected mining town at the "center of the little known universe" out here in an oft-neglected corner of Santa Fe County. There were so few people here when they handed out zip codes that we don't even have our own. We're a community of outcasts and has-beens and artists and old hippies and wannabes that has turned an abandoned company coal town into a great place to live. We all fit in here somehow and those that don't seem to find their way out of here pretty quickly. We want it our way and dammit that's the only way we'll take it. But we do like our tourists and our photographers and our promoters (well, most of 'em) and we love our bar/community center. We promise to show you a good time and tell you about the place and let you take pictures if you'll buy us a beer. Buy us dinner and we might invite you back!

After you've checked out Madrid, why not drive down the mountain into the village of Cerrillos, New Mexico
