Help Bring Google Fiber to Madison!

Google is looking for one or more trial locations in the U.S. to test its ultra-high speed broadband network. This network will provide Internet speeds of over 1 gigabit per second, more than 100 times faster than a pretty good connection in Madison currently, and at “a competitive price.”

What can you do to help? Tell Google you would use their ultra-high speed Internet service by sharing a photo with this group:

Step 1: Get together with your family, friends, anyone who would use the new ultra-high speed Internet service and take a photo with a sign saying "I'd use Google Fiber". If no one else is available to be in the photo, that's okay, just take a photo of yourself with the sign. It would be best if the photo could have your place of residence or workplace in the background, we want Google to see people associated with the locations where the service will be used. For privacy purposes, please make sure your house number, street sign, etc. is not in the photo.

Step 2: Upload the photo to your Flickr account. Please tag the photo with "madfiber" so it can be included in our community-wide effort. Adding a description to the photo saying why Google fiber would be great for our community would be a nice touch.

Step 3: Share the photo with this group.
