Macy held its 34th annual fireworks display for an estimated 3 million spectators and millions of tv views around the country. 26 minutes firework will start from 21:20 set off from six barges. 2010 barges will be positioned end to end between 24th to 50th st on the hudson river.

West Side Highway and Surrounding Area
The best views of the fireworks show will be from the northbound lanes of the West Side Highway and 12th Avenue between 23rd and 59th Streets.

Twelfth Avenue and the northbound lanes of the West Side Highway between 23rd and 59th Streets will closed to traffic for public fireworks viewing. Pedestrian access to the viewing area will be via the following streets: 24th, 26th through 30th, 34th, 40th through 44th, 47th, 49th through 52nd,54th, 56th, and57th.

New York City parking guru Gridlock Samtold us that the best viewing area would probably be south of 42nd Street along the pier by the Circle Line. We had spectacular views from the West Side Highway just south of the U.S.S. Intrepid near 45th Street last year. Other prime West Side public viewing spots include:
•Dewitt Clinton Park (access from 11th Avenue)
•Pier 54 (limited access from 14th Street)
•Pier 84 (limited access from 44th Street)
•Selected side streets between 11th and 12th Avenues
The following West Side spots will NOT be open for public viewing of the fireworks: Battery Park, Battery Park City, Hudson River Piers (except Pier 54 and Pier 84 as described above), the Hudson Park Promenade between West Houston and 59th Streets, and the Hudson River Park Bike Path between West Houston and 59th Streets.

You'll find great views of the Macy's 2010 fireworks from Hoboken and Weehawken, with decent views from Jersey City and North Bergen. Join the crowds along the Hudson River Promenade on the New Jersey side.

Macy's July 4th Fireworks Live on NBC
You can also catch the fireworks action from the comforts of home by tuning in to Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular broadcast nationally on NBC-TV. The one-hour star-studded special will be broadcast live from a Norwegian Cruise Lines ship and feature performances from Justin Bieber and others.
