Machina della Panoramica

Recently discovered and as-yet unpublished sketches by Leonardo da Vinci – Italy's famous and brilliant inventor – have been taken by Groningen artists as the starting point for the construction of a wooden machine. Scientists have been wondering for weeks about the inner workings and aim of the machine. One thing they have found out is that the machine has to be set in motion by human muscle-power. And those capable of doing so can expect an exceptional spectacle...

The result can be admired on the Piazza during the Noorderzon festival in Groningen, the Netherlands.
