Manifesto:

The anonymity movement is a movement towards a more perfect aesthetic experience.

Let the art and the observer make love to each other!

That said, there is no set formula.

The anonymity movement is a movement against the perversion of the aesthetic experience; a movement against the categorization & generalization of art; a movement away from erroneous metonymy.

The unchecked adolescence of the aesthetic experience has led to an identity-centered, egotistical atmosphere and existence of art. What this new interaction of the observer and the art has begot is an overdiagnostic art theory, concerning itself with nothings and unmerited subjective judgments: removing the importance of craft & versification, and relying on the use of mass media & aristocracy to place importance on the identity of the artist, so that the importance placed by the observer on the art is minimal, in favor of, instead, the name of the artist by whom it was crafted.

Much like Zeus raining down as gold on Danaë, the anonymous can also impregnate, heroes being therefrom born. The hero I speak of is that of the rejuvenated aesthetic experience. Neither one based on metonymical identities, nor one searching for meaning which is not there, or even one judging a piece of art based on the artist who created it. This hero will accompany folks throughout their days, prompting new perspectives, purveying the audacity to question that social norm which showers a subjective perspective on society without the citizens even knowing.

This is not to say that names ought to be removed from hanging pieces. To do so would be an entire revolution of art, an entire up-turning, a perverting of art, which I don't intend to be made desirable. However, the viewer that has experienced the influence of anonymity will be more genuinely influenced by the art seen: no doubt well prepared, on their next museum visit, to shun preconceived notions, to speak with their neighbor not about the artist, but of the art itself, to impress the entire cocktail party with theories on aesthetics! We shall not be contented with the negative effect of placing value on name. There are, however, pure functions of the artist in the aesthetic experience, but it should not be granted unmerited time.

The ideal cerebral atmosphere & physical conditions conducive to complement & be conducive to the more perfect aesthetic experience are caused by a capability of the observers to detach from their everyday happenings and to exist within the realm of the art, and can accept with an open mind the conditions of the piece. When the perceiver has attained a negative capability, he is aware of his situations & has the capability for the disinterested perception necessary for the most desirable aesthetic experience.

You shall question the function of a name, and that of a name on art. What indicative functions does a name have? A name creates a generalized portrait of a person based on interactions with their art or their person. Though, a limited part of a person is in their art, or in a session of their presence, and so as an observer, a man can only get impressions. Impressions which the artist spends his time subjugating what he should give through his art so that his identity as artist will be formed by his art. He will have given a portrait, truly, favorable to himself and to his ego. We are not artists to be heavy-headed based on subjective judgments. We are artists to be heavy-headed objectively: without dependence on name!

When one man is championed to the point of excess, the art is not functioning as a medium for creative influence for the community, but is functioning as one of the few ports which can filter the community's access to the creative force, & influence, & artistic process, and knowledge thereof--at his will, yea or no. When the piece itself instead of the artist's name bears the significance, the commanding of the creative force is transferred directly to the observer & thus to the whole community.
