About Michigan Highway M-22

Description
=========
This group is all about what you see and encounter as you travel along Michigan's coastal highway M-22 in northwestern lower Michigan, at the "tip of the little finger."

M-22 follows the Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay shoreline along part of Manistee County, the west side of Benzie County, and both the west and east sides of Leelanau County. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is accessed from M-22, and some of it can be seen from the highway. M-22 passes through many quaint towns and villages including: Onekama, Arcadia, Elberta, Frankfort, Empire, Glen Arbor, Leland, Northport, Omena, Peshawbestown, Suttons Bay, and Greilickville (just north of Traverse City).

Rules for Contributors
=================
You do not need to be invited to join. All we ask is that your photo be of the intended subject matter. We will be a bit fussy about where photos are taken to keep this group focused on M-22. Photos not following the rules will be deleted, and may include a Flickr email from one of our staff.

Submitted photos should:
• be taken from along side (or within 100 feet) of the road.
• be only what you see and encounter outdoors along side the road. This might be nature scenes, live animals, flora, rivers, lakes, fields, farms, barns, buildings, businesses, motels, restaurants, old gas stations, etc.
• be clean and family oriented.
• have an M-22 tag.
• say where you were on M-22 in the description.
• not include personal / family photos, or the like.
• not be significantly altered from the natural integrity of the scene other than what is needed to correct the image to match what you saw with the naked eye.

Please be selective, choose your favorites, and avoid a lot of photos of the same subject.

Please post no more than 10 things to the pool each day.

Cool shots of the highway would be neat. And if it feels like fun, put in shots of side roads leading to cool places, like the one leading to Point Betsie, and then say, "Here's the way to Point Betsie!"

Note, there are other groups that cover Manistee and Manistee County, Benzie County, and Leelanau County, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and Manitou Islands. So photos taken in/of those areas that do not fit in this group may fit in those. Check the specific rules for each group to be sure.

Thanks for joining and sharing.
