As if we need a reason to take a picture of the Moon, but...

This group was initially formed to give people the opportunity to take a picture of the Moon at the exact same moment as others from all over, ie to be connected. It worked in the winter because the nights were long enough to bridge distances that covered many countries and crossed oceans. Unfortunately this idea didn't work in the summer because the night window was just too small. For this reason I made a change in the purpose and goal of the group. It still maintains the spirit of the groups name, but I think it will make it much easier for people to participate and submit moon pictures to the group.

NEW GROUP PURPOSE:
Take pictures of the moon that show a connection to our planet Earth.

NEW PHOTO RULES:

1. The only real rule is that your picture of the moon must show a connection to the Earth.
This means, along with the Moon, there must also be something else that is earthbound in the picture such as trees, mountains, buildings, clouds, planes, etc. to name a few.
2. All phases of the Moon are welcome as long as the moon can be seen in the picture.
3. Pictures of ONLY the Moon, no matter how beautiful, will be deleted.

So... Go out, be creative, play with your camera settings and think outside the box.
