About Luminosity and Light (Post 1, Comment 1)

This is a group dedicated to images that are somehow luminous. If your photographs, digital art, paintings, collages, drawings, or sculpture seem to glow, gleam, shimmer, scintillate, or coruscate with an inner light, then please join our glittering group and post your works (and no, you don't need an invitation to join or to post your works once you have joined the group). Abstract, realistic, color, or black and white pieces are all welcome, and subjects don't matter (with certain exceptions; please see group rules); light and color do. And if you know others who revel in radiance, bask in brilliance, or luxuriate in lustrous color, then please invite them to join.

If you've been invited to post a work here or join this group, you're here because your work speaks the universal language of light, color, and beauty. I've always loved photographs and paintings that seem to have a sort of inner glow or brilliance (perhaps it's because my own work often tends to be somewhat dark). The paintings and photographsI love most sparkle with light or color, shimmer softly with gentle or lush hues, or glow with a soft warm fire; they may even whisper their subtle message using only shades of gray. They may gleam quietly with a moody mistiness, or jump off the screen screaming "Look at me!" with their vivid hues. So if you have been invited to post, it's because the unique loveliness of your work and the way you have handled the qualities of light, luminosity, and color have made a strong impression.
