About Lucian Freud Tribute Portraits
Welcome,
With the death of Lucian Freud just a few days ago an array of images of his work is now being displayed in the media. Among them his very fine (self-) portraits. As a tribute to the artist I thought it would be a nice idea to start a special group where Flickr-artists can post their own portraits of Lucian, in a style of their choice (not necessarily in the style of Lucian). Photos of the artist to work from can be easily found in the media.
This group (LFTP) is open to new members by application.
Some basic rules to start out with:
- only add non-photographic portraits of Lucian Freud made by yourself
- no photographs of Lucian Freud or of his work
- no artworks based on Lucian's work other than his self-portraits
This initiative started as a discussion thread within Julia Kay's Portrait Party (JKPP). For those who are not yet familiar with this great portrait group please check out www.flickr.com/groups/portraitparty/
