About Historic Structures Lost in Windsor, ON
A group dedicated to our favourite buildings that have been lost in the City of Windsor over the years, whether by intentional demolition or unfortunate disasters. 2008 was a particularly bad year for demolition of heritage properties, but I encourage you to share photos and memories from as far back as you can remember.
What have we lost as a City that contributed to our geographic identity?
2008/2009's Record Number of Demolitions
In the past year, a number of Windsor, Ontario's historic buildings have been lost to the wrecker's ball. With no official mandate by the city to try and preserve parts of our structural heritage through renovation, developers have been squirming to level many sites that have meant something to Windsorites.
