About Lords of the Gourd

This is a group for pictures of pumpkins large and small--growing, buying, admiring, carving, and eating all shapes and sizes of these gourds in the genus cucurbita.

On October 22, 2007, 10:00-11:00 p.m. ET, PBS will air an encore broadcast of "Lords of the Gourd: The Pursuit of Excellence" about the struggles and triumphs for the intense competitors in the 2006 Cooperstown Pumpkin Fest. (Some giant pumpkins sleep in hammocks; some competitors take to sleeping in the garden as the competition nears.)

We may not all grown giant pumpkins, but we can all enjoy them. Show us your gourd interaction with images that have a Creative Commons license for non-commercial sharing and we'll highlight some of them on PBS.org. (Look for more details in this space soon.)
