JUST A REMINDER: Please read the group description carefully. I will be deleting photos that aren't posed family photos taken at Lorain's Easter baskets. You are welcome to add other photos of the basket and Easter in Lorain to the Lorain group.

About Lorain Easter basket photos

This is for photos taken at the Lorain Easter baskets, both now and in the past.

The Lorain Easter baskets at Lakeview and Oakwood parks were constructed in 1937 and 1939 by David Shukait, a Lorain city employee. For more information, please read this most excellent blog post at Word of Mouth.

What makes these baskets so special? In an excerpt of that blog piece, Frank Shukait, son of the baskets' creator, compared the baskets to the city of Lorain. “Like Lorain being a melting pot of a city, the baskets bring all kinds of people together at Easter.”

Please don't post pictures you take of the baskets, but pictures of you and your loved ones at the baskets. A quick reference, if there are smiling people in your basket photo, it probably what I'm looking for. If there aren't people in your basket photo, please don't post it to the group.

And I'd encourage you to go through your family's photo albums and scan in your old photos. I'd love to see all the various photos from over the years!
